- If you, then, despite your evil nature, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!

slow to anger, rich in kindness,
and always prepared to relent from punishing. - To the loyal, you show yourself to be loyal;

my wrath will not continue forever. - I shall forgive them for their wicked deeds,

and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
who has blessed us in Christ
with every spiritual blessing in the heavens. - Even when you reach old age
I will still be the same.

I will still carry you.
I have made you and I will uphold you;
I will carry you and save you. - For the Lord, your God, is gracious and compassionate, and he will not turn his face away from you if you return to him.
