Likewise all to whom God gives wealth and possessions and whom he enables to enjoy them, and to accept their lot and find enjoyment in their toil—this is the gift of God. | As for every man to whom God has given riches and wealth, and given him power to eat of it, to receive his heritage and rejoice in his labor—this is the gift of God. |
Now I would remind you, brothers and sisters, of the good news that I proclaimed to you, which you in turn received, in which also you stand, through which also you are being saved, if you hold firmly to the message that I proclaimed to you—unless you have come to believe in vain. | Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you—unless you believed in vain. |
For whoever finds me finds life and obtains favor from the Lord. | For whoever finds me finds life, And obtains favor from the Lord. |
Let no one despise your youth, but set the believers an example in speech and conduct, in love, in faith, in purity. | Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity. |
For Christ is the end of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes. | For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes. |
We ourselves are Jews by birth and not Gentile sinners; yet we know that a person is justified not by the works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ. And we have come to believe in Christ Jesus, so that we might be justified by faith in Christ, and not by doing the works of the law, because no one will be justified by the works of the law. | We who are Jews by nature, and not sinners of the Gentiles, knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified. |
And said to them, “Whoever welcomes this child in my name welcomes me, and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me; for the least among all of you is the greatest.” | And said to them, “Whoever receives this little child in My name receives Me; and whoever receives Me receives Him who sent Me. For he who is least among you all will be great.” |
For the love of Christ urges us on, because we are convinced that one has died for all; therefore all have died. And he died for all, so that those who live might live no longer for themselves, but for him who died and was raised for them. | For the love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died; and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again. |
By insolence the heedless make strife, but wisdom is with those who take advice. | By pride comes nothing but strife, But with the well-advised is wisdom. |
Who is it that conquers the world but the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? | Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? |
Therefore, brothers and sisters, be all the more eager to confirm your call and election, for if you do this, you will never stumble. For in this way, entry into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be richly provided for you. | Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble; for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. |
No one who conceals transgressions will prosper, but one who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy. | He who covers his sins will not prosper, But whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy. |
Ask, and it will be given you; search, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened for you. | Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. |
Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in my house, and thus put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts; see if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you an overflowing blessing. | “Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house, And try Me now in this,” Says the Lord of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it.” |
I lift up my eyes to the hills— from where will my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. | I will lift up my eyes to the hills— From whence comes my help? My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth. |
So I say to you, Ask, and it will be given you; search, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened for you. | So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. |
