- For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his. We know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body of sin might be destroyed, and we might no longer be enslaved to sin.
- For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from fornication;
that each one of you know how to control your own body in holiness and honor,
not with lustful passion, like the Gentiles who do not know God. - A new heart I will give you, and a new spirit I will put within you; and I will remove from your body the heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.
- No longer present your members to sin as instruments of wickedness, but present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life, and present your members to God as instruments of righteousness.

- For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
- Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, just as it is well with your soul.
- Stay awake and pray that you may not come into the time of trial; the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
- He said to them, “Then do you also fail to understand? Do you not see that whatever goes into a person from outside cannot defile,
since it enters, not the heart but the stomach, and goes out into the sewer?” (Thus he declared all foods clean.) - But he said to them, “Do not be alarmed; you are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has been raised; he is not here. Look, there is the place they laid him.”
- For in him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily, and you have come to fullness in him, who is the head of every ruler and authority.
- For it was you who formed my inward parts;
you knit me together in my mother's womb.
I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Wonderful are your works;
that I know very well. - But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid; I know that you are looking for Jesus who was crucified. He is not here; for he has been raised, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay.”
- Without any doubt, the mystery of our religion is great:
He was revealed in flesh,
vindicated in spirit,
seen by angels,
proclaimed among Gentiles,
believed in throughout the world,
taken up in glory. - By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. And this is the spirit of the antichrist, of which you have heard that it is coming; and now it is already in the world.
