- Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always strive to do what is good for each other and for everyone else.
- This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world.
- Good will come to those who are generous and lend freely,
who conduct their affairs with justice. - Come back to your senses as you ought, and stop sinning; for there are some who are ignorant of God—I say this to your shame.
- Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
- Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ.
- But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.
- Lord, hear my prayer,
listen to my cry for mercy;
in your faithfulness and righteousness
come to my relief. - Speak up and judge fairly;
defend the rights of the poor and needy. - Can a mother forget the baby at her breast
and have no compassion on the child she has borne?
Though she may forget,
I will not forget you!
See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands;
your walls are ever before me. - I came from the Father and entered the world; now I am leaving the world and going back to the Father.
- So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.
- “Come now, let us settle the matter,”
says the Lord.
“Though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be as white as snow;
though they are red as crimson,
they shall be like wool.” - After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.”
- “Are you so dull?” he asked. “Don’t you see that nothing that enters a person from the outside can defile them? For it doesn’t go into their heart but into their stomach, and then out of the body.” (In saying this, Jesus declared all foods clean.)
- Do not deprive each other except perhaps by mutual consent and for a time, so that you may devote yourselves to prayer. Then come together again so that Satan will not tempt you because of your lack of self-control.
- Repent at my rebuke!
Then I will pour out my thoughts to you,
I will make known to you my teachings. - But he knows the way that I take;
when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold.
My feet have closely followed his steps;
I have kept to his way without turning aside. - Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.
- But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah,
though you are small among the clans of Judah,
out of you will come for me
one who will be ruler over Israel,
whose origins are from of old,
from ancient times. - You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly.
- Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come.
- Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!
- However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.
- Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.
Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.
