Bible Verses about 'Decorate a tree'
- A gentle tongue is a tree of life,
but perverseness in it breaks the spirit. - Hope deferred makes the heart sick,
but a desire fulfilled is a tree of life. - The vine dries up;
the fig tree languishes.
Pomegranate, palm, and apple,
all the trees of the field are dried up,
and gladness dries up
from the children of man. - For the customs of the peoples are vanity.
A tree from the forest is cut down
and worked with an axe by the hands of a craftsman.
They decorate it with silver and gold;
they fasten it with hammer and nails
so that it cannot move.
Their idols are like scarecrows in a cucumber field,
and they cannot speak;
they have to be carried,
for they cannot walk.
Do not be afraid of them,
for they cannot do evil,
neither is it in them to do good. - And God said, “Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit. You shall have them for food.”
- Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord,
whose trust is the Lord.
He is like a tree planted by water,
that sends out its roots by the stream,
and does not fear when heat comes,
for its leaves remain green,
and is not anxious in the year of drought,
for it does not cease to bear fruit. - And Jesus answered them, “Truly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ it will happen.”
- He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.
- Then the Lord God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of us in knowing good and evil. Now, lest he reach out his hand and take also of the tree of life and eat, and live forever—” therefore the Lord God sent him out from the garden of Eden to work the ground from which he was taken.
- Though the fig tree should not blossom,
nor fruit be on the vines,
the produce of the olive fail
and the fields yield no food,
the flock be cut off from the fold
and there be no herd in the stalls,
yet I will rejoice in the Lord;
I will take joy in the God of my salvation. - A wise son makes a glad father,
but a foolish son is a sorrow to his mother. - Your word is a lamp to my feet
and a light to my path. - What is desired in a man is steadfast love,
and a poor man is better than a liar. - No one after lighting a lamp covers it with a jar or puts it under a bed, but puts it on a stand, so that those who enter may see the light.
- A joyful heart is good medicine,
but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. - Create in me a clean heart, O God,
and renew a right spirit within me. - I have made a covenant with my eyes;
how then could I gaze at a virgin? - A friend loves at all times,
and a brother is born for adversity. - A fool's lips walk into a fight,
and his mouth invites a beating. - A soft answer turns away wrath,
but a harsh word stirs up anger. - To make an apt answer is a joy to a man,
and a word in season, how good it is! - Righteousness exalts a nation,
but sin is a reproach to any people. - The Lord is a stronghold for the oppressed,
a stronghold in times of trouble. - A man of many companions may come to ruin,
but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. - You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.
- A dishonest man spreads strife,
and a whisperer separates close friends. - A faithful witness does not lie,
but a false witness breathes out lies. - Fine speech is not becoming to a fool;
still less is false speech to a prince. - He who finds a wife finds a good thing
and obtains favor from the Lord. - For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven.
- The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit;
a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise. - For a thousand years in your sight
are but as yesterday when it is past,
or as a watch in the night. - There is a way that seems right to a man,
but its end is the way to death. - Whoever goes about slandering reveals secrets,
but he who is trustworthy in spirit keeps a thing covered. - Of how much more value is a man than a sheep! So it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.
- Anxiety in a man's heart weighs him down,
but a good word makes him glad. - And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.
- A fool gives full vent to his spirit,
but a wise man quietly holds it back. - The ransom of a man's life is his wealth,
but a poor man hears no threat. - A man without self-control
is like a city broken into and left without walls. - But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
- But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
- For a day in your courts is better
than a thousand elsewhere.
I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God
than dwell in the tents of wickedness. - It is a snare to say rashly, “It is holy,”
and to reflect only after making vows. - For his anger is but for a moment,
and his favor is for a lifetime.
Weeping may tarry for the night,
but joy comes with the morning. - The vexation of a fool is known at once,
but the prudent ignores an insult. - The one who conceals hatred has lying lips,
and whoever utters slander is a fool. - The words of a wise man's mouth win him favor,
but the lips of a fool consume him. - A rich man's wealth is his strong city,
and like a high wall in his imagination. - Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
