Chinese (traditional)Bible Verses about 'Desires'
- Take delight in the Lord,
and he will give you the desires of your heart. - So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.
- Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh.
- For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want.
- Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction.
- The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.
- What a person desires is unfailing love;
better to be poor than a liar. - Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires.
- Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry.
- You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.
- See, the enemy is puffed up;
his desires are not upright—
but the righteous person will live by his faithfulness. - Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.
- Flee the evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
- Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave.
- They said to you, “In the last times there will be scoffers who will follow their own ungodly desires.” These are the people who divide you, who follow mere natural instincts and do not have the Spirit.
- The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.
- For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it.
- For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it.
- Then he said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.”
- May he give you the desire of your heart
and make all your plans succeed. - For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world.
- For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
- For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me and for the gospel will save it.
- Sitting down, Jesus called the Twelve and said, “Anyone who wants to be first must be the very last, and the servant of all.”
- Yes, Lord, walking in the way of your laws,
we wait for you;
your name and renown
are the desire of our hearts.
He went on: “What comes out of a person is what defiles them. For it is from within, out of a person’s heart, that evil thoughts come—sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly. All these evils come from inside and defile a person.”Who is he, this King of glory?
The Lord Almighty—
he is the King of glory. Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.Next verse!With image
