- Take delight in the Lord,
and he will give you the desires of your heart. - Live by the Spirit, I say, and do not gratify the desires of the flesh.

and fulfill all your plans. - For all that is in the world—the desire of the flesh, the desire of the eyes, the pride in riches—comes not from the Father but from the world.

and it is better to be poor than a liar. - For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit.

but the righteous live by their faith. - For those who want to save their life will lose it, and those who lose their life for my sake, and for the sake of the gospel, will save it.

For it is from within, from the human heart, that evil intentions come: fornication, theft, murder, adultery, avarice, wickedness, deceit, licentiousness, envy, slander, pride, folly. All these evil things come from within, and they defile a person.”
