- But according to Scripture all things have been confined under sin, so that through faith in Jesus Christ what was promised might be given to those who believe.
- The earth is the Lord’s and everything in it,
the world and all who live in it. - Taste and see that the Lord is good;
blessed is the man who takes refuge in him. - This is
‘the stone rejected by you, the builders,
that has become the cornerstone.’ - However, you, dear friends, must build yourselves up in your most holy faith and pray in the Holy Spirit. Keep yourselves in the love of God as you await our Lord Jesus Christ in his mercy, who will grant you eternal life.
- And this is the testimony:
God gave us eternal life,
and this life is in his Son. - Jesus replied,
“This is the work of God:
to believe in the one whom he has sent.” - Through the grace that God has bestowed upon me, I advise every one of you not to think of yourself too highly, but to regard yourself objectively, based on the measure of faith that God has granted.
- Is anyone among you sick? He should send for the presbyters of the Church so that they may pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. The prayer of faith will save the sick person, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed any sins, he will be forgiven.
- Who indeed conquers the world
except the one who believes
that Jesus is the Son of God? - Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord,
the people whom he has chosen as his heritage. - For the Lord is our judge,
the Lord is our lawgiver.
The Lord is our king;
he is the one who will save us. - For Christ is the fulfillment of the Law for the justification of all who believe.
- The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,
and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. - Grandchildren are the crown of the aged,
and the glory of children is their parents. - Blessed is the person who has found wisdom,
the one who has gained understanding. - There is no holy one like the Lord,
there is none beside you,
nor is there a rock like our God. - Blessed is the man whom God reproves.
Therefore, do not reject the discipline of the Almighty. - Alleluia.
Blessed is the man who fears the Lord,
who greatly delights in his precepts. - And take the helmet of salvation as well as the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
- Jesus answered them, “Amen, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only will you do what has been done to this fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ it will be accomplished.”
- For I am longing to see you so that I may bestow on you some spiritual gift to strengthen you— or, rather, so that we may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith, both yours and mine.
- The fear of the Lord provides instruction in wisdom,
and to be humble is the way to honor. - When pride is nurtured, disgrace soon follows,
but wisdom is the hallmark of the humble. - Love cannot result in any harm to the neighbor; therefore, love is the fulfillment of the Law.
