- Although you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and rejoice with an indescribable and glorious joy, for you are receiving the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
- Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised;

- Therefore let us go on toward perfection, leaving behind the basic teaching about Christ, and not laying again the foundation: repentance from dead works and faith toward God, instruction about baptisms, laying on of hands, resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment.
- Grandchildren are the crown of the aged,
and the glory of children is their parents. - The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge;
fools despise wisdom and instruction. - This Jesus is
‘the stone that was rejected by you, the builders;
it has become the cornerstone.’ - Jesus answered them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent.”
- God abides in those who confess that Jesus is the Son of God, and they abide in God.
- How happy is the one whom God reproves;
therefore do not despise the discipline of the Almighty. - Stand therefore, and fasten the belt of truth around your waist, and put on the breastplate of righteousness. As shoes for your feet put on whatever will make you ready to proclaim the gospel of peace. With all of these, take the shield of faith, with which you will be able to quench all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
- For this is the message you have heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.
- The wealth of the rich is their strong city;
in their imagination it is like a high wall.
