God as friend (4/4)

  • He answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.”
  • Thus you could understand that the Lord, your God, was disciplining you, just like a father disciplines his son.
  • But as for you, man of God, you must shun all this. Rather, pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, fortitude, and gentleness.
  • Our God is in heaven;
    he does whatever he pleases.
  • No one has ever seen God,
but if we love one another,
    God abides in us,
and his love is made complete in us.
  • In the same way, the Son of Man did not come to be served but rather to serve and to give his life as a ransom for many.
  • Just as in Adam all die, so all will be brought to life in Christ.
  • There is one body and one Spirit, as well as one hope to which you have been called by your vocation.
  • My deliverance and my glory depend on God;
he is my mighty rock and my refuge.
  • If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy that person. For the temple of God is holy, and you are that temple.
  • Jesus looked at them and said, “For men it is impossible, but not for God. For God all things are possible.”
  • Blessed are the pure of heart, for they will see God.
  • I, the Lord, am your God. You must obey my laws and be careful to observe my ordinances. Keep holy my Sabbaths as a sign between me and you so that you will know that I am the Lord, your God.
  • Therefore, take care to live as intelligent people, and do not be like those who are senseless. Make the most of the present time, for this is a wicked age.
  • God created mankind in his image, in the image of God he created them, male and female he created them.
  • God gave the midwives numerous families because they had feared God.
  • And just as no human being comprehends any person’s innermost being except the person’s own spirit within him, so also no one comprehends what pertains to God except the Spirit of God.
  • The Lord, your God, will bless you as he promised you. You will lend to many nations, but borrow from none. You shall rule over many nations, but none shall rule over you.
  • God said, “Let there be light!” And there was light.
  • Just as water reflects one’s face,
so does one human heart reflect another.
  • God chose those in the world who were lowly and despised, those who count for nothing, to reduce to nothing those who were regarded as worthy, so that no one could boast in the presence of God.
  • Just as he came forth naked from his mother’s womb,
so shall he depart, naked as he came,
with nothing remaining from his labor
that he can carry away in his hands.
  • No one has ever seen God.
It is the only Son, God,
who is at the Father’s side,
    who has made him known.
  • Hence, as sin’s reign resulted in death, so the grace of God also might reign through righteousness resulting in eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
  • However, to those who did accept him
and who believed in his name
he granted the power to become children of God.

Bible verse of the day

And as we gaze upon the glory of the Lord with unveiled faces, all of us are being transformed into that same image from glory to glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
