- A joyful heart is good medicine,
but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. - The Lord is good,
a stronghold in the day of trouble;
he knows those who take refuge in him. - The young lions suffer want and hunger;
but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing. - For he satisfies the longing soul,
and the hungry soul he fills with good things. - He who finds a wife finds a good thing
and obtains favor from the Lord. - For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to strengthen you— that is, that we may be mutually encouraged by each other's faith, both yours and mine.
- How beautiful upon the mountains
are the feet of him who brings good news,
who publishes peace, who brings good news of happiness,
who publishes salvation,
who says to Zion, “Your God reigns.” - Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil.
- For “Whoever desires to love life
and see good days,
let him keep his tongue from evil
and his lips from speaking deceit;
let him turn away from evil and do good;
let him seek peace and pursue it.” - Looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.
- To make an apt answer is a joy to a man,
and a word in season, how good it is! - Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due,
when it is in your power to do it. - Of how much more value is a man than a sheep! So it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.
- For you, O Lord, are good and forgiving,
abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you. - But you, beloved, building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life.
- Then the Lord God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him.”
- Seek good, and not evil,
that you may live;
and so the Lord, the God of hosts, will be with you,
as you have said. - For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned.
- A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches,
and favor is better than silver or gold. - And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.”
- And Jesus answered them, “Truly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ it will happen.”
- Teach me to do your will,
for you are my God!
Let your good Spirit lead me
on level ground! - I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
- Who is wise and understanding among you? By his good conduct let him show his works in the meekness of wisdom.
- Anxiety in a man's heart weighs him down,
but a good word makes him glad.
