- Let love and faithfulness never leave you;
bind them around your neck,
write them on the tablet of your heart.
Then you will win favor and a good name
in the sight of God and man. - For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.
- But be very careful to keep the commandment and the law that Moses the servant of the Lord gave you: to love the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, to keep his commands, to hold fast to him and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.
- Rend your heart
and not your garments.
Return to the Lord your God,
for he is gracious and compassionate,
slow to anger and abounding in love,
and he relents from sending calamity. - Do not hate a fellow Israelite in your heart. Rebuke your neighbor frankly so you will not share in their guilt. Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against anyone among your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the Lord.
- “Now then,” said Joshua, “throw away the foreign gods that are among you and yield your hearts to the Lord, the God of Israel.”
- I desire to do your will, my God;
your law is within my heart. - May the Lord direct your hearts into God’s love and Christ’s perseverance.
- Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me.
- Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
- And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God ask of you but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, to love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to observe the Lord’s commands and decrees that I am giving you today for your own good?
- I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people.
- To love him with all your heart, with all your understanding and with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself is more important than all burnt offerings and sacrifices.
- Turn my heart toward your statutes
and not toward selfish gain. - I have hidden your word in my heart
that I might not sin against you. - Then Peter said, “Ananias, how is it that Satan has so filled your heart that you have lied to the Holy Spirit and have kept for yourself some of the money you received for the land? Didn’t it belong to you before it was sold? And after it was sold, wasn’t the money at your disposal? What made you think of doing such a thing? You have not lied just to human beings but to God.”
- My flesh and my heart may fail,
but God is the strength of my heart
and my portion forever. - I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
I will counsel you with my loving eye on you. - I seek you with all my heart;
do not let me stray from your commands. - Your statutes are my heritage forever;
they are the joy of my heart. - I will praise you with an upright heart
as I learn your righteous laws. - A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.
- Teach me your way, Lord,
that I may rely on your faithfulness;
give me an undivided heart,
that I may fear your name. - I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart;
I will tell of all your wonderful deeds. - Blessed are the pure in heart,
for they will see God.
Go, eat your food with gladness, and drink your wine with a joyful heart, for God has already approved what you do.May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for each other and for everyone else, just as ours does for you. Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited.Next verse!With image
