Hath (3/4)

  • He made him who did not know sin to be sin for our sake, so that through him we might become the righteousness of God.
  • Although it was our afflictions that he bore,
    our sufferings that he endured,
we thought of him as stricken,
as struck down by God and afflicted.
  • The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me
because the Lord has anointed me.
He has sent me to announce good news to the oppressed,
    to strengthen the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom to those held in captivity
and release to those who have been imprisoned.
  • Only fear the Lord and serve him faithfully with your whole heart, considering the great things he has done for you.
  • Rather, be kind to one another and compassionate, and forgive one another as God has forgiven you in Christ.
  • Who has performed these deeds and accomplished this?
Who has summoned the nations from the beginning?
I, the Lord, am the first,
and I will be there with the last.
  • However, God has revealed these things to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit explores everything, even the depths of God.
  • The Spirit of the Lord is upon me,
    because he has anointed me
to bring the good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim release to prisoners
and recovery of sight to the blind,
to let the oppressed go free.
  • Therefore, when someone is guilty of any one of these things, he shall confess the sin he has committed.
  • When you make a vow to God, do not delay in fulfilling it, for God has no pleasure in fools. Fulfill the vow you have made.
  • It was for freedom that Christ set us free. Therefore, stand firm and refuse to submit again to the yoke of slavery.
  • Hence, as sin’s reign resulted in death, so the grace of God also might reign through righteousness resulting in eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
  • But according to Scripture all things have been confined under sin, so that through faith in Jesus Christ what was promised might be given to those who believe.
  • I rejoice in the Lord with all my heart;
my soul exults in my God.
For he has clothed me in garments of salvation
and wrapped me in a robe of saving justice,
like a bridegroom adorned with a garland
or a bride bedecked with her jewels.
  • For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus for a life of good works that God had prepared for us to do.
  • I am confident of this: that the one who began a good work in you will bring it to completion on the day of Christ Jesus.
  • In love there is no fear;
indeed, perfect love casts out fear,
because fear has to do with punishment,
    and whoever fears
has not yet achieved perfection in love.
  • If we are diligent in observing all of these commandments before the Lord, our God, as he commanded of us, then this will be our righteousness.
  • We have come to know
    and to believe in
the love that God has for us.
    God is love,
    and whoever abides in love
    abides in God,
    and God in him.
  • And whoever does not provide for relatives, especially for those who are living with him, has disowned the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
  • The body is one, although it has many parts; and all the parts, though many, form one body. So it is with Christ.
  • Jesus said to him, “Go on your way! Your faith has made you well.” Immediately, he received his sight and followed him along the road.
  • The one who eats everything must not look contemptuously on the one who does not, and the one who abstains must not pass judgment on the one who eats, for God has welcomed both.
  • I am now about to go the way of all upon the earth. You know very well in your hearts and your souls that not one of the good things that the Lord, your God, promised you has failed to take place. Every promise has been fulfilled, not one of them has been broken.
  • You shall take heed to observe the commandments of the Lord, your God, and the decrees and statutes that he has given to you.

He who called you is holy. Therefore, be holy yourselves in all your conduct. For Scripture says, “Be holy, for I am holy.”
