- The Lord your God you shall follow, him alone you shall fear, his commandments you shall keep, his voice you shall obey, him you shall serve, and to him you shall hold fast.

and he was extolled with my tongue. - They stripped him and put a scarlet robe on him, and after twisting some thorns into a crown, they put it on his head. They put a reed in his right hand and knelt before him and mocked him, saying, “Hail, King of the Jews!”

every eye will see him,
even those who pierced him;
and on his account all the tribes of the earth will wail.
So it is to be. Amen. - Although you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and rejoice with an indescribable and glorious joy, for you are receiving the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
- Seek the Lord while he may be found,
call upon him while he is near. - All the prophets testify about him that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.
- This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light and in him there is no darkness at all.
- He who did not withhold his own Son, but gave him up for all of us, will he not with him also give us everything else?
- For God alone my soul waits in silence;
from him comes my salvation. - Jesus answered him, “Those who love me will keep my word, and my Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.”

- For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
- And now, little children, abide in him, so that when he is revealed we may have confidence and not be put to shame before him at his coming.
- Cast all your anxiety on him, because he cares for you.
- The Lord is my strength and my shield;
in him my heart trusts;
so I am helped, and my heart exults,
and with my song I give thanks to him. - And without faith it is impossible to please God, for whoever would approach him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
- May God continue to bless us;
let all the ends of the earth revere him. - The scripture says, “No one who believes in him will be put to shame.”
- “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul,
“therefore I will hope in him.” - The Lord redeems the life of his servants;
none of those who take refuge in him will be condemned. - God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.
- Then the Lord God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper as his partner.”
