- Happy are those who keep his decrees,
who seek him with their whole heart. - O taste and see that the Lord is good;
happy are those who take refuge in him. - While Peter was kept in prison, the church prayed fervently to God for him.
- Beloved, we are God's children now; what we will be has not yet been revealed. What we do know is this: when he is revealed, we will be like him, for we will see him as he is. And all who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure.
- But to all who received him, who believed in his name, he gave power to become children of God.
- Every word of God proves true;
he is a shield to those who take refuge in him. - Jesus said to him, “Go; your faith has made you well.” Immediately he regained his sight and followed him on the way.
- And having been made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him.
- Therefore keep the commandments of the Lord your God, by walking in his ways and by fearing him.
- By this we know that we abide in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit.
- Beloved, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have boldness before God; and we receive from him whatever we ask, because we obey his commandments and do what pleases him.
- Truly the eye of the Lord is on those who fear him,
on those who hope in his steadfast love. - Those who eat must not despise those who abstain, and those who abstain must not pass judgment on those who eat; for God has welcomed them.
- A gift opens doors;
it gives access to the great. - Jesus said to him, “If you are able!—All things can be done for the one who believes.”
- The Lord is good,
a stronghold in a day of trouble;
he protects those who take refuge in him. - What are human beings that you are mindful of them,
mortals that you care for them? - As a father has compassion for his children,
so the Lord has compassion for those who fear him. - For in him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily, and you have come to fullness in him, who is the head of every ruler and authority.
- This poor soul cried, and was heard by the Lord,
and was saved from every trouble. - Therefore God also highly exalted him
and gave him the name
that is above every name,
so that at the name of Jesus
every knee should bend,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth. - Philip said to him, “Lord, show us the Father, and we will be satisfied.”
- Then Peter came and said to him, “Lord, if another member of the church sins against me, how often should I forgive? As many as seven times?” Jesus said to him, “Not seven times, but, I tell you, seventy-seven times.”
- Then Peter began to speak to them: “I truly understand that God shows no partiality, but in every nation anyone who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him.”
- But when they saw him walking on the sea, they thought it was a ghost and cried out; for they all saw him and were terrified. But immediately he spoke to them and said, “Take heart, it is I; do not be afraid.”
