- Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised;
his greatness is unsearchable. - His divine power has given us everything needed for life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.

on those who hope in his steadfast love. - Each of us must please our neighbor for the good purpose of building up the neighbor.
- You must diligently keep the commandments of the Lord your God, and his decrees, and his statutes that he has commanded you.
- Happy is the nation whose God is the Lord,
the people whom he has chosen as his heritage. - As a father has compassion for his children,
so the Lord has compassion for those who fear him. - Praise the Lord!
Happy are those who fear the Lord,
who greatly delight in his commandments. - And the Lord God made garments of skins for the man and for his wife, and clothed them.
- But the tax collector, standing far off, would not even look up to heaven, but was beating his breast and saying, ‘God, be merciful to me, a sinner!’
- Or can one walk on hot coals
without scorching the feet? - So then, a sabbath rest still remains for the people of God; for those who enter God's rest also cease from their labors as God did from his.
- Look at the proud!
Their spirit is not right in them,
but the righteous live by their faith. - If you conquer, you will be clothed like them in white robes, and I will not blot your name out of the book of life; I will confess your name before my Father and before his angels.
- Do not seek your own advantage, but that of the other.
- No one has greater love than this, to lay down one's life for one's friends.
