| For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? | For what will it profit them if they gain the whole world but forfeit their life? Or what will they give in return for their life? |

| The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints. | So that, with the eyes of your heart enlightened, you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance among the saints. |
| Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? | Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? |
| By the word of the Lord were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth. | By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, and all their host by the breath of his mouth. |
