- The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom;
all those who practice it have a good understanding.
His praise endures forever. - No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God lives in us, and his love is perfected in us.

- God's love was revealed among us in this way: God sent his only Son into the world so that we might live through him.
- A wise child makes a glad father,
but a foolish child is a mother's grief. - Therefore keep the commandments of the Lord your God, by walking in his ways and by fearing him.
- For the word of the Lord is upright,
and all his work is done in faithfulness. - As they came from their mother's womb, so they shall go again, naked as they came; they shall take nothing for their toil, which they may carry away with their hands.
- For ‘In him we live and move and have our being’; as even some of your own poets have said,
‘For we too are his offspring.’ - When God raised up his servant, he sent him first to you, to bless you by turning each of you from your wicked ways.
