- Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you seems to be wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise.
- But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.
- For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.
- Then the other disciple, who came to the tomb first, went in also; and he saw and believed. For as yet they did not know the Scripture, that He must rise again from the dead.
- For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
- This is the ‘stone which was rejected by you builders, which has become the chief cornerstone.’
- For we have become partakers of Christ if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end.
- Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
- But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life.
- Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant. And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave.
- Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.
- Behold, how good and how pleasant it is
For brethren to dwell together in unity! - But whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.
- You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace.
- He must increase, but I must decrease.
- If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!
- But from the beginning of the creation, God ‘made them male and female.’ ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’; so then they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.
- How can a young man cleanse his way?
By taking heed according to Your word. - And who is he who will harm you if you become followers of what is good?
- Then the Lord God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of Us, to know good and evil. And now, lest he put out his hand and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever”— therefore the Lord God sent him out of the garden of Eden to till the ground from which he was taken.
- But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.
- And He answered and said to them, “Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning ‘made them male and female,’ and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’? So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.”
- I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.
- Of how much more value then is a man than a sheep? Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.
- Then the rib which the Lord God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man.
And Adam said:
“This is now bone of my bones
And flesh of my flesh;
She shall be called Woman,
Because she was taken out of Man.”
Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. - You shall not afflict any widow or fatherless child. If you afflict them in any way, and they cry at all to Me, I will surely hear their cry; and My wrath will become hot, and I will kill you with the sword; your wives shall be widows, and your children fatherless.
- Then the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations and to reserve the unjust under punishment for the day of judgment.
- A man has joy by the answer of his mouth,
And a word spoken in due season, how good it is! - How much better to get wisdom than gold!
And to get understanding is to be chosen rather than silver. - Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding fast the word of life.
- He who walks with integrity walks securely,
But he who perverts his ways will become known. - The hand of the diligent will rule,
But the lazy man will be put to forced labor. - Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out!
- And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.
- What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?
- How I kept back nothing that was helpful, but proclaimed it to you, and taught you publicly and from house to house.
- He who walks with wise men will be wise,
But the companion of fools will be destroyed. - By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.
- “Come now, and let us reason together,”
Says the Lord,
“Though your sins are like scarlet,
They shall be as white as snow;
Though they are red like crimson,
They shall be as wool.” - Finally, brethren, farewell. Become complete. Be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you.
- How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
- You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.
- Then Peter came to Him and said, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?”
Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.” - But whoever has this world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him?
- How beautiful upon the mountains
Are the feet of him who brings good news,
Who proclaims peace,
Who brings glad tidings of good things,
Who proclaims salvation,
Who says to Zion,
“Your God reigns!” - For there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, nor hidden that will not be known.
- Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.”
- Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside, redeeming the time. Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one.
- By which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
- For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality; that each of you should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in passion of lust, like the Gentiles who do not know God.
