and a word in season, how good it is! - My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit and become my disciples.

- How much more valuable is a human being than a sheep! So it is lawful to do good on the sabbath.
- How very good and pleasant it is
when kindred live together in unity! - And the rib that the Lord God had taken from the man he made into a woman and brought her to the man. Then the man said,
“This at last is bone of my bones
and flesh of my flesh;
this one shall be called Woman,
for out of Man this one was taken.”
Therefore a man leaves his father and his mother and clings to his wife, and they become one flesh. - You shall not abuse any widow or orphan. If you do abuse them, when they cry out to me, I will surely heed their cry; my wrath will burn, and I will kill you with the sword, and your wives shall become widows and your children orphans.
- How can young people keep their way pure?
By guarding it according to your word. - Nothing is covered up that will not be uncovered, and nothing secret that will not become known.
- But now that you have been freed from sin and enslaved to God, the advantage you get is sanctification. The end is eternal life.
- Then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trial, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment until the day of judgment.
- For you were called to freedom, brothers and sisters; only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for self-indulgence, but through love become slaves to one another.
- And the Lord will become king over all the earth; on that day the Lord will be one and his name one.
- How much better to get wisdom than gold!
To get understanding is to be chosen rather than silver. - Come now, let us argue it out,
says the Lord:
though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be like snow;
though they are red like crimson,
they shall become like wool. - I have made a covenant with my eyes;
how then could I look upon a virgin? - O the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways!
- It will not be so among you; but whoever wishes to be great among you must be your servant, and whoever wishes to be first among you must be your slave.
- If I speak in the tongues of mortals and of angels, but do not have love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.
- The hand of the diligent will rule,
while the lazy will be put to forced labor. - Thus he has given us, through these things, his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may escape from the corruption that is in the world because of lust, and may become participants of the divine nature.
- How does God's love abide in anyone who has the world's goods and sees a brother or sister in need and yet refuses help?
- So let us not grow weary in doing what is right, for we will reap at harvest time, if we do not give up.
- Now who will harm you if you are eager to do what is good?
- What then are we to say? Should we continue in sin in order that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who died to sin go on living in it?
- If you obey the commandments of the Lord your God that I am commanding you today, by loving the Lord your God, walking in his ways, and observing his commandments, decrees, and ordinances, then you shall live and become numerous, and the Lord your God will bless you in the land that you are entering to possess.
- Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but that very Spirit intercedes with sighs too deep for words.
- Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise,
but the companion of fools suffers harm. - And let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good deeds, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
- How beautiful upon the mountains
are the feet of the messenger who announces peace,
who brings good news,
who announces salvation,
who says to Zion, “Your God reigns.” - How much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify our conscience from dead works to worship the living God!
- Just as you do not know how the breath comes to the bones in the mother's womb, so you do not know the work of God, who makes everything.
- For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from fornication;
that each one of you know how to control your own body in holiness and honor,
not with lustful passion, like the Gentiles who do not know God.
