- Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you thinks that he is wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise.

- How can a young man keep his way pure?
By guarding it according to your word. - To make an apt answer is a joy to a man,
and a word in season, how good it is! - Then the Lord God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of us in knowing good and evil. Now, lest he reach out his hand and take also of the tree of life and eat, and live forever—” therefore the Lord God sent him out from the garden of Eden to work the ground from which he was taken.
- Of how much more value is a man than a sheep! So it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.
- He answered, “Have you not read that he who created them from the beginning made them male and female, and said, ‘Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’? So they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.”
- Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
- Behold, how good and pleasant it is
when brothers dwell in unity! - For we have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original confidence firm to the end.
- I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need.
- And the rib that the Lord God had taken from the man he made into a woman and brought her to the man. - By which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire.
- You shall not mistreat any widow or fatherless child. If you do mistreat them, and they cry out to me, I will surely hear their cry, and my wrath will burn, and I will kill you with the sword, and your wives shall become widows and your children fatherless.
- Then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment until the day of judgment.
- How much better to get wisdom than gold!
To get understanding is to be chosen rather than silver. - Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord:
though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be as white as snow;
though they are red like crimson,
they shall become like wool. - I have made a covenant with my eyes;
how then could I gaze at a virgin? - Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways!
- It shall not be so among you. But whoever would be great among you must be your servant, and whoever would be first among you must be your slave.
- If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.
- The hand of the diligent will rule,
while the slothful will be put to forced labor. - And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.
- What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it?
- Now who is there to harm you if you are zealous for what is good?
- By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples.
- Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise,
but the companion of fools will suffer harm. - How I did not shrink from declaring to you anything that was profitable, and teaching you in public and from house to house.
- And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.
- How much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify our conscience from dead works to serve the living God.
- How beautiful upon the mountains
are the feet of him who brings good news,
who publishes peace, who brings good news of happiness,
who publishes salvation,
who says to Zion, “Your God reigns.” - But if anyone has the world's goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God's love abide in him?
- Then Peter came up and said to him, “Lord, how often will my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? As many as seven times?” Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you seven times, but seventy-seven times.”
- You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people's feet.
- Nothing is covered up that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known.
- For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from sexual immorality; that each one of you know how to control his own body in holiness and honor, not in the passion of lust like the Gentiles who do not know God.
- And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.”
- Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time. Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.
- He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?
- You are severed from Christ, you who would be justified by the law; you have fallen away from grace.
- Oh, how abundant is your goodness,
which you have stored up for those who fear you
and worked for those who take refuge in you,
in the sight of the children of mankind!
