  • My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry.

    but laziness ends in forced labor.
  • Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God!
    How unsearchable his judgments,
    and his paths beyond tracing out!
  • Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh.
  • Who is going to harm you if you are eager to do good?
  • Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.
  • If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person?
  • What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer?
  • Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God’s sight by the works of the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin.
  • This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.
  • “Come now, let us settle the matter,”
    says the Lord.
    “Though your sins are like scarlet,
    they shall be as white as snow;
    though they are red as crimson,
    they shall be like wool.”
  • How beautiful on the mountains
    are the feet of those who bring good news,
    who proclaim peace,
    who bring good tidings,
    who proclaim salvation,
    who say to Zion,
    “Your God reigns!”
  • How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God!
  • You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.
  • As you do not know the path of the wind,
    or how the body is formed in a mother’s womb,
    so you cannot understand the work of God,
    the Maker of all things.
  • There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known.

  • I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.
