- The reward of humility and the fear of the Lord
Are riches, honor, and life. - Before destruction the heart of a person is haughty,
But humility goes before honor. - The fear of the Lord is the instruction for wisdom,
And before honor comes humility. - With all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love.
- So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.

But a humble spirit will obtain honor. - Humble yourselves in the presence of the Lord, and He will exalt you.
- Be of the same mind toward one another; do not be haughty in mind, but associate with the lowly. Do not be wise in your own estimation.
- Your adornment must not be merely the external—braiding the hair, wearing gold jewelry, or putting on apparel; but it should be the hidden person of the heart, with the imperishable quality of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in the sight of God.
- Therefore, ridding yourselves of all filthiness and all that remains of wickedness, in humility receive the word implanted, which is able to save your souls.
- Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, so that He may exalt you at the proper time.
- And My people who are called by My name humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

And to walk humbly with your God? - So when you give to the poor, do not sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, so that they will be praised by people. Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full.
- He must increase, but I must decrease.
- The Lord is good and upright;
Therefore He instructs sinners in the way.
He leads the humble in justice,
And He teaches the humble His way. - Wives, be subject to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives and do not become bitter against them.
