- O Lord, you have searched me and known me!
You know when I sit down and when I rise up;
you discern my thoughts from afar. - I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.
- I have stored up your word in my heart,
that I might not sin against you. - For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
- I stretch out my hands to you;
my soul thirsts for you like a parched land. Selah - Where shall I go from your Spirit?
Or where shall I flee from your presence?
If I ascend to heaven, you are there!
If I make my bed in Sheol, you are there! - Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you. And as I gave you the green plants, I give you everything. But you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, its blood.
- I will praise you with an upright heart,
when I learn your righteous rules. - And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules.
- I acknowledged my sin to you,
and I did not cover my iniquity;
I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,”
and you forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah - I will be glad and exult in you;
I will sing praise to your name, O Most High. - O God, you are my God;
earnestly I seek you;
my soul thirsts for you;
my flesh faints for you,
as in a dry and weary land
where there is no water. - How I did not shrink from declaring to you anything that was profitable, and teaching you in public and from house to house.
- Let me hear in the morning of your steadfast love,
for in you I trust.
Make me know the way I should go,
for to you I lift up my soul. - I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life.
- Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account.
- Jesus then said, “I will be with you a little longer, and then I am going to him who sent me.”
- Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
- O Lord, you are my God;
I will exalt you; I will praise your name,
for you have done wonderful things,
plans formed of old, faithful and sure. - You adulterous people! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.
- So that by God's will I may come to you with joy and be refreshed in your company.
- Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed;
save me, and I shall be saved,
for you are my praise. - Because your steadfast love is better than life,
my lips will praise you.
So I will bless you as long as I live;
in your name I will lift up my hands. - If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you.
- Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
