- Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?
- However, those who want riches fall into temptations and are trapped into many senseless and harmful desires that plunge them into ruin and destruction.
- While he was departing as they gazed upward toward the sky, suddenly two men dressed in white robes stood beside them, and they said, “Men of Galilee, why are you standing there looking up into the sky? This Jesus who has been taken up from you into heaven will come back in the same way as you have seen him going into heaven.”
- Then he said to them, “Go forth into the whole world and proclaim the gospel to all creation.”
- He said to them, “Then are you also without understanding? Do you not realize that whatever goes into a person from outside cannot defile him, since it enters not into the heart but into the stomach and is discharged into the sewer?” Thus, he pronounced all foods clean.
- And do not lead us into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one. - For God did not send his Son into the world
to condemn the world
but in order that the world might be saved through him. - Rather, professing truth and love, we will in all things grow into him who is the head, Christ.
- He cried out, “Father, into your hands I commend my spirit.” And with these words he breathed his last.
- Then, after he had spoken to them, the Lord Jesus was taken up into heaven, and there he took his place at the right hand of God.
- God is faithful, and it is by him that you have been called into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
- Stay awake and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit is indeed willing, but the flesh is weak.
- You will again show us compassion
and wash away our guilt;
you will cast all our sins
into the depths of the sea. - God’s love was revealed to us in this way:
God sent his only-begotten Son into the world
so that we might have life through him. - May the Lord guide your hearts to the love of God and the steadfastness of Christ.
- I came from the Father
and have come into the world.
Now I am leaving the world
and returning to the Father. - For we brought nothing into this world, and we can take nothing out. If we have food and clothing, let us be content with these.
- For in the one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, Jews as well as Greeks, slaves as well as free men, and we were all given the same Spirit to drink.
- Through faith you are all children of God in Christ Jesus. For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves in Christ.
- Beloved,
do not trust every spirit,
but test the spirits
to see whether they are from God.
For many false prophets
have gone out into the world. - However, the one who looks intently at the perfect law of freedom and perseveres—not forgetting what he has heard but putting it into practice—will be blessed in everything he does.
- The lips of a fool cause strife,
and his mouth provokes a flogging. - The whispers of a gossiper are tasty morsels
that corrode one’s inner being. - If your right eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away. It is preferable for you to lose one part of your body than to have your whole body thrown into Gehenna.
- But when you pray, go into your room, close the door, and pray to your Father in secret. And your Father who sees everything that is done in secret will reward you.
He has rescued us from the power of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.Who is this King of glory?
The Lord of hosts:
he is the King of glory. Selah You who abide in the shelter of the Most High,
who rest in the shadow of the Almighty,
say to the Lord, “You are my refuge and my fortress,
my God in whom I place my trust.”Next verse! With image
