It is a snare to the man who devoureth that which is holy, and after vows to make enquiry.It is a snare for a man to devote rashly something as holy, And afterward to reconsider his vows.
But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land? Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the price of the land for yourself? While it remained, was it not your own? And after it was sold, was it not in your own control? Why have you conceived this thing in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God.”
Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life.
But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.But He said, “More than that, blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it!”

But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance.
But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.
And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me.”
Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil.Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil.
Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.
And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’
Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it.
For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?
The earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.The earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness, The world and those who dwell therein.
And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it; For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.Then He took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.”
Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not? for riches certainly make themselves wings; they fly away as an eagle toward heaven.Will you set your eyes on that which is not? For riches certainly make themselves wings; They fly away like an eagle toward heaven.
Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.
When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.
It is an honour for a man to cease from strife: but every fool will be meddling.It is honorable for a man to stop striving, Since any fool can start a quarrel.
I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.I set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be for the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth.
If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.
The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.The entrance of Your words gives light; It gives understanding to the simple.
Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it.
God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?
Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.

A fool uttereth all his mind: but a wise man keepeth it in till afterwards.A fool vents all his feelings, But a wise man holds them back.
