- I have said these things to you so that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be complete.

yet I will rejoice in the Lord;
I will exult in the God of my salvation. - Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice.

and all who are faint I will replenish. - Because your steadfast love is better than life,
my lips will praise you.
So I will bless you as long as I live;
I will lift up my hands and call on your name. - Happy are those whose transgression is forgiven,
whose sin is covered. - And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, the Beloved, with whom I am well pleased.”

your law is within my heart. - I will be glad and exult in you;
I will sing praise to your name, O Most High. - Happy is the nation whose God is the Lord,

then you shall take delight in the Lord,

I will feed you with the heritage of your ancestor Jacob,
for the mouth of the Lord has spoken. - God gives the desolate a home to live in;
he leads out the prisoners to prosperity,
but the rebellious live in a parched land. - As sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing everything.
- While he was still speaking, suddenly a bright cloud overshadowed them, and from the cloud a voice said, “This is my Son, the Beloved; with him I am well pleased; listen to him!”
- But for you who revere my name the sun of righteousness shall rise, with healing in its wings. You shall go out leaping like calves from the stall.
- But I will sing of your might;
I will sing aloud of your steadfast love in the morning.
For you have been a fortress for me

and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels. - Now when all the people were baptized, and when Jesus also had been baptized and was praying, the heaven was opened, and the Holy Spirit descended upon him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven, “You are my Son, the Beloved; with you I am well pleased.”
- Day by day, as they spent much time together in the temple, they broke bread at home and ate their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having the goodwill of all the people. And day by day the Lord added to their number those who were being saved.
