Bible Verses about 'Joy'
- These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.
- I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.
- Deceit is in the heart of those who devise evil,
but those who plan peace have joy. - So that by God's will I may come to you with joy and be refreshed in your company.
- To make an apt answer is a joy to a man,
and a word in season, how good it is! - Your testimonies are my heritage forever,
for they are the joy of my heart. - Until now you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.
- Just so, I tell you, there is joy before the angels of God over one sinner who repents.
- My lips will shout for joy,
when I sing praises to you;
my soul also, which you have redeemed. - And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.”
- You make known to me the path of life;
in your presence there is fullness of joy;
at your right hand are pleasures forevermore. - May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.
- For his anger is but for a moment,
and his favor is for a lifetime.
Weeping may tarry for the night,
but joy comes with the morning. - But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
- The hope of the righteous brings joy,
but the expectation of the wicked will perish. - Go, eat your bread with joy, and drink your wine with a merry heart, for God has already approved what you do.
- The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and covered up. Then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.
- Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.
- Looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.
- His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’

and the fatherless who had none to help him.

and I caused the widow's heart to sing for joy. - Then he said to them, “Go your way. Eat the fat and drink sweet wine and send portions to anyone who has nothing ready, for this day is holy to our Lord. And do not be grieved, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”
- Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
- The vine dries up;
the fig tree languishes.
Pomegranate, palm, and apple,
all the trees of the field are dried up,
and gladness dries up
from the children of man. - The father of the righteous will greatly rejoice;
he who fathers a wise son will be glad in him. - The Lord your God is in your midst,
a mighty one who will save;
he will rejoice over you with gladness;
he will quiet you by his love;
he will exult over you with loud singing. - A wise son makes a glad father,
but a foolish son is a sorrow to his mother. - When the cares of my heart are many,
your consolations cheer my soul. - Though the fig tree should not blossom,
nor fruit be on the vines,
the produce of the olive fail
and the fields yield no food,
the flock be cut off from the fold
and there be no herd in the stalls,
yet I will rejoice in the Lord;
I will take joy in the God of my salvation. - The precepts of the Lord are right,
rejoicing the heart;
the commandment of the Lord is pure,
enlightening the eyes. - The Lord is my strength and my shield;
in him my heart trusts, and I am helped;
my heart exults,
and with my song I give thanks to him. - But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.
- Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice.
- For I will satisfy the weary soul, and every languishing soul I will replenish.
- Blessed is the one
whose transgression is forgiven,
whose sin is covered. - And behold, a voice from heaven said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.”
- I delight to do your will, O my God;
your law is within my heart. - I will be glad and exult in you;
I will sing praise to your name, O Most High. - Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord,
the people whom he has chosen as his heritage! - Behold, blessed is the one whom God reproves;
therefore despise not the discipline of the Almighty. - God settles the solitary in a home;
he leads out the prisoners to prosperity,
but the rebellious dwell in a parched land. - As sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, yet possessing everything.
- If you turn back your foot from the Sabbath,
from doing your pleasure on my holy day,
and call the Sabbath a delight
and the holy day of the Lord honorable;
if you honor it, not going your own ways,
or seeking your own pleasure, or talking idly;
then you shall take delight in the Lord,
and I will make you ride on the heights of the earth;
I will feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father,
for the mouth of the Lord has spoken. - He was still speaking when, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to him.”
- Because your steadfast love is better than life,
my lips will praise you.
So I will bless you as long as I live;
in your name I will lift up my hands. - But for you who fear my name, the sun of righteousness shall rise with healing in its wings. You shall go out leaping like calves from the stall.
- But I will sing of your strength;
I will sing aloud of your steadfast love in the morning.
For you have been to me a fortress
and a refuge in the day of my distress. - Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion!
Shout aloud, O daughter of Jerusalem!
Behold, your king is coming to you;
righteous and having salvation is he,
humble and mounted on a donkey,
on a colt, the foal of a donkey. - I will greatly rejoice in the Lord;
my soul shall exult in my God,
for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation;
he has covered me with the robe of righteousness,
as a bridegroom decks himself like a priest with a beautiful headdress,
and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels. - Now when all the people were baptized, and when Jesus also had been baptized and was praying, the heavens were opened, and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form, like a dove; and a voice came from heaven, “You are my beloved Son; with you I am well pleased.”
