- Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to care for orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.
- I am not asking you to take them out of the world, but I ask you to protect them from the evil one.

turn your foot away from evil. - And keep the charge of the Lord your God, walking in his ways and keeping his statutes, his commandments, his ordinances, and his testimonies, as it is written in the law of Moses, so that you may prosper in all that you do and wherever you turn.

By guarding it according to your word. - My child, do not forget my teaching,
but let your heart keep my commandments;
for length of days and years of life
and abundant welfare they will give you. - Know therefore that the Lord your God is God, the faithful God who maintains covenant loyalty with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations.
- So I say to you, Ask, and it will be given you; search, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened for you.
- The Lord your God you shall follow, him alone you shall fear, his commandments you shall keep, his voice you shall obey, him you shall serve, and to him you shall hold fast.
- You must neither add anything to what I command you nor take away anything from it, but keep the commandments of the Lord your God with which I am charging you.
- Even fools who keep silent are considered wise;
when they close their lips, they are deemed intelligent. - But he said, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it!”
- I the Lord am your God; follow my statutes, and be careful to observe my ordinances, and hallow my sabbaths that they may be a sign between me and you, so that you may know that I the Lord am your God.
- If only they had such a mind as this, to fear me and to keep all my commandments always, so that it might go well with them and with their children forever!
- But the steadfast love of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting
on those who fear him,
and his righteousness to children's children,
to those who keep his covenant
and remember to do his commandments. - Protect me, O God, for in you I take refuge.
- Do not, O Lord, withhold
your mercy from me;
let your steadfast love and your faithfulness
keep me safe forever. - The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to keep still.
- Pray in the Spirit at all times in every prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert and always persevere in supplication for all the saints.
- So then let us not fall asleep as others do, but let us keep awake and be sober.
- Put away from you crooked speech,
and put devious talk far from you. - If you follow my statutes and keep my commandments and observe them faithfully, I will give you your rains in their season, and the land shall yield its produce, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.
- Keep straight the path of your feet,
and all your ways will be sure. - Keep my steps steady according to your promise,
and never let iniquity have dominion over me. - I will put my spirit within you, and make you follow my statutes and be careful to observe my ordinances.
