- And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.
- For you, O God, have tested us;
you have tried us as silver is tried. - Finally, all of you, have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind.
- He said to them, “Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.”
- As in water face reflects face,
so the heart of man reflects the man. - Likewise also that women should adorn themselves in respectable apparel, with modesty and self-control, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly attire, but with what is proper for women who profess godliness—with good works.
- But he knows the way that I take;
when he has tried me, I shall come out as gold.
My foot has held fast to his steps;
I have kept his way and have not turned aside. - But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.”
- So then let us not sleep, as others do, but let us keep awake and be sober.
- Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
- And while they were gazing into heaven as he went, behold, two men stood by them in white robes, and said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven? This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven.”
- Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil.
- Can anyone withhold water for baptizing these people, who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?
- May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus.
- So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.
- The one who conquers will be clothed thus in white garments, and I will never blot his name out of the book of life. I will confess his name before my Father and before his angels.
- Do all things without grumbling or disputing, that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding fast to the word of life.
- If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church. And if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector.
- Now the birth of Jesus Christ took place in this way. When his mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was found to be with child from the Holy Spirit.

- Because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen. For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error. And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done.

neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. - Know then in your heart that, as a man disciplines his son, the Lord your God disciplines you.
- Then the Lord God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him.”
And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words.Who is this King of glory?
The Lord of hosts,
he is the King of glory! Selah For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.Next verse!With image
