Luke 14:10 (2/3)

  • Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit in the wilderness, where for forty days he was tempted by the devil. He ate nothing at all during those days, and when they were over, he was famished.
  • The Spirit of the Lord is upon me,
    because he has anointed me
to bring good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives
and recovery of sight to the blind,
to let the oppressed go free.
  • I have come to call not the righteous but sinners to repentance.
  • Blessed are you when people hate you, and when they exclude you, revile you, and defame you on account of the Son of Man.
  • But I say to you that listen, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you.
  • Give to everyone who begs from you; and if anyone takes away your goods, do not ask for them again.
  • If you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same.
  • Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.
  • Do not judge, and you will not be judged; do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.
  • Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap; for the measure you give will be the measure you get back.
  • The good person out of the good treasure of the heart produces good, and the evil person out of evil treasure produces evil; for it is out of the abundance of the heart that the mouth speaks.
  • No one after lighting a lamp hides it under a jar, or puts it under a bed, but puts it on a lampstand, so that those who enter may see the light.
  • When Jesus heard this, he replied, “Do not fear. Only believe, and she will be saved.”
  • And taking the five loaves and the two fish, he looked up to heaven, and blessed and broke them, and gave them to the disciples to set before the crowd. And all ate and were filled. What was left over was gathered up, twelve baskets of broken pieces.
  • Then he said to them all, “If any want to become my followers, let them deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.”
  • For those who want to save their life will lose it, and those who lose their life for my sake will save it.
  • And said to them, “Whoever welcomes this child in my name welcomes me, and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me; for the least among all of you is the greatest.”
  • Cure the sick who are there, and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’
  • Nevertheless, do not rejoice at this, that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.
  • He answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.”
  • So I say to you, Ask, and it will be given you; search, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened for you.
  • If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!
  • But he said, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it!”
  • Nothing is covered up that will not be uncovered, and nothing secret that will not become known.
  • Therefore whatever you have said in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have whispered behind closed doors will be proclaimed from the housetops.

Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten in God's sight. But even the hairs of your head are all counted. Do not be afraid; you are of more value than many sparrows.
