Chinese (traditional)- Wealth is a ransom for a person's life,
but the poor get no threats. - With the Lord on my side I do not fear.
What can mortals do to me? - It is better to take refuge in the Lord
than to put confidence in mortals. - To make an apt answer is a joy to anyone,
and a word in season, how good it is! - Praise the Lord!
Happy are those who fear the Lord,
who greatly delight in his commandments. - He who finds a wife finds a good thing,
and obtains favor from the Lord. - For what human being knows what is truly human except the human spirit that is within? So also no one comprehends what is truly God's except the Spirit of God.
- He humbled you by letting you hunger, then by feeding you with manna, with which neither you nor your ancestors were acquainted, in order to make you understand that one does not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.
- He replied, “What is impossible for mortals is possible for God.”
- How much more valuable is a human being than a sheep! So it is lawful to do good on the sabbath.
- Or can one walk on hot coals
without scorching the feet? - All deeds are right in the sight of the doer,
but the Lord weighs the heart. - It is honorable to refrain from strife,
but every fool is quick to quarrel. - It is well with those who deal generously and lend,
who conduct their affairs with justice. - So we can say with confidence,
“The Lord is my helper;
I will not be afraid.
What can anyone do to me?” - Let no one deceive you in any way; for that day will not come unless the rebellion comes first and the lawless one is revealed, the one destined for destruction. He opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, declaring himself to be God.
- Each of you, however, should love his wife as himself, and a wife should respect her husband.
- Do not let loyalty and faithfulness forsake you;
bind them around your neck,
write them on the tablet of your heart.
So you will find favor and good repute
in the sight of God and of people. - The clever see danger and hide;
but the simple go on, and suffer for it. - How happy is the one whom God reproves;
therefore do not despise the discipline of the Almighty. - In the same way, husbands should love their wives as they do their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.
- Happy are those
who do not follow the advice of the wicked,
or take the path that sinners tread,
or sit in the seat of scoffers. - The human mind plans the way,
but the Lord directs the steps. - With the loyal you show yourself loyal;
with the blameless you show yourself blameless. - So God created humankind in his image,
in the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them.
Fools show their anger at once,
but the prudent ignore an insult.With all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love. Bear with one another and, if anyone has a complaint against another, forgive each other; just as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.Next verse!With image
