- He alone is my rock and my salvation,
My refuge; I will not be shaken. - I have treasured Your word in my heart,
So that I may not sin against You. - Or can a person walk on hot coals
And his feet not be scorched? - So then, let’s not sleep as others do, but let’s be alert and sober.
- Do you not know? Have you not heard?
The Everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth
Does not become weary or tired.
His understanding is unsearchable. - “For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord. - Little children, let’s not love with word or with tongue, but in deed and truth.
- Are five sparrows not sold for two assaria? And yet not one of them has gone unnoticed in the sight of God. But even the hairs of your head are all counted. Do not fear; you are more valuable than a great number of sparrows.
- Incline my heart to Your testimonies,
And not to dishonest gain. - Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not be terrified nor dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
- Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
- Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.
- The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not willing for any to perish, but for all to come to repentance.
- Lord, all my desire is before You;
And my sighing is not hidden from You. - Not lagging behind in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord.
- “If you do not listen, and if you do not take it to heart to give honor to My name,” says the Lord of armies, “then I will send the curse upon you and I will curse your blessings; and indeed, I have cursed them already, because you are not taking it to heart.”
- You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his male slave, or his female slave, or his ox, or his donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.
- Do not weary yourself to gain wealth;
Stop dwelling on it. - But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not just hearers who deceive themselves.
- Train up a child in the way he should go,
Even when he grows older he will not abandon it. - You shall not hate your fellow countryman in your heart; you may certainly rebuke your neighbor, but you are not to incur sin because of him. You shall not take vengeance, nor hold any grudge against the sons of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself; I am the Lord.
- While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.
- Do not be deceived: “Bad company corrupts good morals.”
- Are two sparrows not sold for an assarion? And yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. But even the hairs of your head are all counted. So do not fear; you are more valuable than a great number of sparrows.
- Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid or in dread of them, for the Lord your God is the One who is going with you. He will not desert you or abandon you.
