Chinese (traditional)- For the Lord gives wisdom;
from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. - But he answered, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”
- Open your mouth, judge righteously,
defend the rights of the poor and needy. - The Lord is near to all who call on him,
to all who call on him in truth. - Then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment until the day of judgment.
- Open your mouth for the mute,
for the rights of all who are destitute. - Wash yourselves; make yourselves clean;
remove the evil of your deeds from before my eyes;
cease to do evil. - And hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.
- Blessed are you when people hate you and when they exclude you and revile you and spurn your name as evil, on account of the Son of Man!
- For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!”
- You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father's desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies.
- If your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault, between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained your brother.
- Watch yourselves, so that you may not lose what we have worked for, but may win a full reward.
- Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.
- No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
- He was still speaking when, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to him.”
- All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.
- Because the sentence against an evil deed is not executed speedily, the heart of the children of man is fully set to do evil.
- Though an army encamp against me,
my heart shall not fear;
though war arise against me,
yet I will be confident. - Do not be like your fathers, to whom the former prophets cried out, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts, Return from your evil ways and from your evil deeds.’ But they did not hear or pay attention to me, declares the Lord.
- Ponder the path of your feet;
then all your ways will be sure. - Make me to know your ways, O Lord;
teach me your paths. - Now therefore, if you will indeed obey my voice and keep my covenant, you shall be my treasured possession among all peoples, for all the earth is mine.
- And I shall walk in a wide place,
for I have sought your precepts. - When I thought, “My foot slips,”
your steadfast love, O Lord, held me up.
A friend loves at all times,
and a brother is born for adversity. Whoever is slow to anger has great understanding,
