- If your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault, between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained your brother.
- The vexation of a fool is known at once,
but the prudent ignores an insult. - Whoever goes about slandering reveals secrets,
but he who is trustworthy in spirit keeps a thing covered. - As in water face reflects face,
so the heart of man reflects the man. - To make an apt answer is a joy to a man,
and a word in season, how good it is! - Every way of a man is right in his own eyes,
but the Lord weighs the heart. - Better is the little that the righteous has
than the abundance of many wicked.
For the arms of the wicked shall be broken,
but the Lord upholds the righteous. - The blessing of the Lord makes rich,
and he adds no sorrow with it. - And Jesus said to him, “‘If you can’! All things are possible for one who believes.”
- Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him.
- The memory of the righteous is a blessing,
but the name of the wicked will rot. - If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church. And if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector.
- Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.
- Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted.
- If anyone sins, doing any of the things that by the Lord's commandments ought not to be done, though he did not know it, then realizes his guilt, he shall bear his iniquity.
- Whoever is slow to anger is better than the mighty,
and he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city. - By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you heard was coming and now is in the world already.
- Pay to all what is owed to them: taxes to whom taxes are owed, revenue to whom revenue is owed, respect to whom respect is owed, honor to whom honor is owed.
- The wicked earns deceptive wages,
but one who sows righteousness gets a sure reward. - For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned.
- Understanding this, that the law is not laid down for the just but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who strike their fathers and mothers, for murderers, the sexually immoral, men who practice homosexuality, enslavers, liars, perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound doctrine, in accordance with the gospel of the glory of the blessed God with which I have been entrusted.
- Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock.
- All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.
- For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up!
- No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
