- The heart of man plans his way,
but the Lord establishes his steps. - Deceit is in the heart of those who devise evil,
but those who plan peace have joy. - For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
- Without counsel plans fail,
but with many advisers they succeed. - Commit your work to the Lord,
and your plans will be established. - Many are the plans in the mind of a man,
but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand. - May he grant you your heart's desire
and fulfill all your plans! - For the Lord God does nothing
without revealing his secret
to his servants the prophets. - O Lord, you are my God;
I will exalt you; I will praise your name,
for you have done wonderful things,
plans formed of old, faithful and sure. - Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord,
whose trust is the Lord.
He is like a tree planted by water,
that sends out its roots by the stream,
and does not fear when heat comes,
for its leaves remain green,
and is not anxious in the year of drought,
for it does not cease to bear fruit. - And God said, “Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit. You shall have them for food.”
- Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you. And as I gave you the green plants, I give you everything. But you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, its blood.
- The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me;
your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever.
Do not forsake the work of your hands. - This also comes from the Lord of hosts;
he is wonderful in counsel
and excellent in wisdom. - Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye?
- Therefore put away all filthiness and rampant wickedness and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.
- That their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, to reach all the riches of full assurance of understanding and the knowledge of God's mystery, which is Christ.
- The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.
- May my teaching drop as the rain,
my speech distill as the dew,
like gentle rain upon the tender grass,
and like showers upon the herb. - Who saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works but because of his own purpose and grace, which he gave us in Christ Jesus before the ages began.
- A dishonest man spreads strife,
and a whisperer separates close friends. - Thus says the Lord of hosts, Render true judgments, show kindness and mercy to one another, do not oppress the widow, the fatherless, the sojourner, or the poor, and let none of you devise evil against another in your heart.
- For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
- And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.
- Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap.
The Lord watches over the sojourners;
he upholds the widow and the fatherless,
but the way of the wicked he brings to ruin.When God saw what they did, how they turned from their evil way, God relented of the disaster that he had said he would do to them, and he did not do it.
