- Blessings are showered on the head of the righteous,
but sorrow will cover the face of the wicked. - He has rescued us from the power of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
- What is born of the flesh is flesh,
and what is born of the Spirit is spirit. - Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is close at hand.
- Put on the armor of God so that you will be able to stand firm against the deceit of the devil.
- Therefore, let us leave behind the basic teaching about Christ and advance toward maturity. We must not be forever laying the foundation: repentance for actions that lead to death, faith in God, instruction about baptisms and the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment.

but because of his mercy,
he saved us through the bath of rebirth
and renewal by the Holy Spirit. - Let those who love the Lord hate evil,

- The reward of humility and fear of the Lord
is wealth, honor, and life. - I write these things to you

that you have eternal life. - Then he took a cup, and after offering thanks he gave it to them, saying, “Drink from this, all of you. For this is my blood of the covenant, which will be shed on behalf of many for the forgiveness of sins.”
- Our help is in the name of the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth. - The law of the Lord is perfect,
affording refreshment to the soul.
The decree of the Lord is worthy of trust,
imparting wisdom to the simple. - Jesus said,
“Amen, amen, I say to you,
no one can enter the kingdom of God
unless he is born of water and the Spirit.” - Let the words of my mouth and the thoughts of my heart
find favor in your sight,
O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer. - Therefore, while we have the opportunity, let us labor for the good of all, but especially for those members of the household of the faith.
- Just as you do not know the path of the wind
or how the body is formed in a woman’s womb,
so you do not know the work of God,
the Creator of all. - He is the reflection of God’s glory
and the perfect expression of his very being,
sustaining all things by his powerful word.
Achieving purification from sins,
he took his seat at the right hand of the Majesty on high. - Faith is the assurance of what we hope for and the conviction about things that cannot be seen.
- This water prefigured Baptism, which now saves you. It does so not by the washing away of dirt from the body but by the pledge of a good conscience given to God through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
- Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How inscrutable are his judgments and how unfathomable his ways!
- With our eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith. For the sake of the joy that lay before him, he endured the cross, ignoring its shame, and is now seated at the right hand of the throne of God.
- The misfortunes of the righteous man are many,
but the Lord delivers him, from all of them.
