and you will take refuge under his wings;

for in you I take refuge. - The Lord will battle for you. Be calm!
- With the Lord to protect me I am not afraid.
What can mortals do to me? - You are my refuge and my shield;
I put my hope in your word. - I can do all things in him who strengthens me.

I will still be the same.
Even when your hair is gray,
I will still carry you.
I have made you and I will uphold you;
I will carry you and save you. - But I will sing of your strength;
when morning dawns, I will proclaim your kindness.
For you have been my fortress,

for from it flow the wellsprings of life. - What then can we say in response to all this? If God is for us, who can be against us?

the upright man runs to it and finds refuge. - The Lord is good,

He takes care of those who place their trust in him. - For who is God except the Lord?
Who is a rock aside from our God? - The Lord will rescue me from every evil attack and bring me safely into his heavenly kingdom. To him be glory forever and ever. Amen.

Pursue justice and rescue the oppressed;
listen to the plea of the orphan
and defend the widow. - The Lord redeems the lives of those who serve him;
no one will be condemned who takes refuge in him. - He alone is my rock and my salvation,
my fortress, so that I stand ever unshaken. - For he guards the paths of justice
and keeps watch over the way of his faithful ones. - They will never again experience hunger or thirst,
nor will the sun or any scorching heat cause them discomfort.
For the Lamb who is at the center of the throne
will be their shepherd.
He will guide them to springs of living water,
and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes. - The prudent man perceives danger and seeks shelter,
while the simple continue forward and pay the penalty. - In you, O Lord, I have taken refuge;
let me never be put to shame;
in your righteousness deliver me. - O Lord, do not withhold your mercy from me;
may your kindness and your truth keep me safe forever. - Therefore, put on the armor of God, so that you will be able to hold fast on the evil day and to hold your ground with all your strength.
- If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy that person. For the temple of God is holy, and you are that temple.
- The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed,
a refuge in times of distress. - He reserves his wisdom for the upright

My God is my rock in whom I take refuge,
my shield and the horn of my salvation,
my stronghold. - Love does not rejoice over wrongdoing
but rejoices in the truth.
Love bears all things,
believes all things,
hopes all things,
endures all things. - Truly, you bless the righteous, O Lord;
you surround them with your goodwill as with a shield. - The Lord then said, “Very well. All that he has is in your power. However, you may not lay a hand upon him.” So Satan went forth from the presence of the Lord.
- The Lord watches over the stranger
and sustains the fatherless and the widow,
but he blocks the way of the wicked. - You, O Lord, are light for my lamp;
O my God, you make my darkness turn to light. - Seek the Lord,
all you humble of the land
who obey his commands.
Seek righteousness, seek humility;
then perhaps you may find shelter
on the day of the Lord’s anger.
