- With his feathers he will shelter you,
and you will take refuge under his wings;

What can mortals do to me? - You are my refuge and my shield;
I put my hope in your word. - I can do all things in him who strengthens me.

while the simple continue forward and pay the penalty. - In you, O Lord, I have taken refuge;
let me never be put to shame;
in your righteousness deliver me. - O Lord, do not withhold your mercy from me;
may your kindness and your truth keep me safe forever. - Therefore, put on the armor of God, so that you will be able to hold fast on the evil day and to hold your ground with all your strength.

but he blocks the way of the wicked. - The Lord then said, “Very well. All that he has is in your power. However, you may not lay a hand upon him.” So Satan went forth from the presence of the Lord.

all you humble of the land
who obey his commands.
Seek righteousness, seek humility;
then perhaps you may find shelter
on the day of the Lord’s anger.
