in your righteousness deliver me! - The prudent sees danger and hides himself,
but the simple go on and suffer for it. - Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.

The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer,

my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. - It does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
- For you bless the righteous, O Lord;
you cover him with favor as with a shield. - The Lord watches over the sojourners;
he upholds the widow and the fatherless,
but the way of the wicked he brings to ruin. - And the Lord said to Satan, “Behold, all that he has is in your hand. Only against him do not stretch out your hand.” So Satan went out from the presence of the Lord.
