Bible Verses about 'Regard'

So don’t let anyone condemn you for what you eat or drink, or for not celebrating certain holy days or new moon ceremonies or Sabbaths. For these rules are only shadows of the reality yet to come. And Christ himself is that reality. Therefore, do not allow anyone to pass judgment on you in regard to what you eat or drink, or about the observance of Festivals, New Moons, or Sabbaths. These are only a shadow of what is to come. The reality is Christ.
Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves.Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vanity, but humbly regard others as better than yourselves.
Instead, clothe yourself with the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ. And don’t let yourself think about ways to indulge your evil desires.Rather, put on the Lord Jesus Christ and allow no opportunity for the flesh to gratify its sinful desires.
Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to be content with whatever I have.I do not say this because I have been in need, for I have learned to be content with whatever I have.
And since we know he hears us when we make our requests, we also know that he will give us what we ask for.And if we know that he hears us in regard to whatever we ask him, we may be sure that all we ask of him will be ours.
He was despised and rejected— a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief. We turned our backs on him and looked the other way. He was despised, and we did not care.He was despised and shunned by others, a man of sorrows who was no stranger to suffering. We loathed him and regarded him as of no account, as one from whom men avert their gaze.
So, what about eating meat that has been offered to idols? Well, we all know that an idol is not really a god and that there is only one God.Now in regard to the eating of meat sacrificed to idols, we know that idols are nothing in the world and that there is only one God.
Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. When he appeared in human form, he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross.Though he was in the form of God, he did not regard equality with God as something to be grasped. Rather, he emptied himself, taking the form of a slave, being born in human likeness. Being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient to death, even death on a cross.
Those who feel free to eat anything must not look down on those who don’t. And those who don’t eat certain foods must not condemn those who do, for God has accepted them. The one who eats everything must not look contemptuously on the one who does not, and the one who abstains must not pass judgment on the one who eats, for God has welcomed both.
Don’t let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity.Let no one regard you with contempt because of your youth, but serve as an example to the believers in your speech and conduct, in your love, your faith, and your purity.
But my life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus—the work of telling others the Good News about the wonderful grace of God.As for me, I do not regard my life as of any value, only that I finish the race and complete the mission that I received from the Lord Jesus—to bear witness to the gospel of God’s grace.
Because of the privilege and authority God has given me, I give each of you this warning: Don’t think you are better than you really are. Be honest in your evaluation of yourselves, measuring yourselves by the faith God has given us.Through the grace that God has bestowed upon me, I advise every one of you not to think of yourself too highly, but to regard yourself objectively, based on the measure of faith that God has granted.
Only a fool despises a parent’s discipline; whoever learns from correction is wise.A fool spurns his father’s correction, but whoever heeds admonition is prudent.
And when he comes, he will convict the world of its sin, and of God’s righteousness, and of the coming judgment. And when he comes, he will prove the world wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment.
Even fools are thought wise when they keep silent; with their mouths shut, they seem intelligent.Even a fool who keeps silent is considered wise; if he closes his lips, he is regarded as intelligent.
For Jesus is the one referred to in the Scriptures, where it says, ‘The stone that you builders rejected has now become the cornerstone.’This is ‘the stone rejected by you, the builders, that has become the cornerstone.’
The rich think of their wealth as a strong defense; they imagine it to be a high wall of safety. The wealth of a rich man is his stronghold; he regards it as a high wall that cannot be scaled.
For no one can ever be made right with God by doing what the law commands. The law simply shows us how sinful we are.For no one can be regarded as justified in the sight of God by keeping the Law. The Law brings only the consciousness of sin.
Keep the Sabbath day holy. Don’t pursue your own interests on that day, but enjoy the Sabbath and speak of it with delight as the Lord’s holy day. Honor the Sabbath in everything you do on that day, and don’t follow your own desires or talk idly. Then the Lord will be your delight. I will give you great honor and satisfy you with the inheritance I promised to your ancestor Jacob. I, the Lord, have spoken! If you refrain from traveling on the Sabbath and from engaging in your own interests on my holy day, if you call the Sabbath a day of joy and regard the Lord’s holy day as honorable, if you honor it by not going your own way, serving your own interests, or attending to your own affairs; then you will find true happiness in the Lord, and I will enable you to ride upon the heights of the earth. I will nourish you with the heritage of your father Jacob, for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.
I have chosen to be faithful; I have determined to live by your regulations.I have chosen the way of faithfulness; I have set your judgments before me.
God chose things despised by the world, things counted as nothing at all, and used them to bring to nothing what the world considers important. As a result, no one can ever boast in the presence of God.God chose those in the world who were lowly and despised, those who count for nothing, to reduce to nothing those who were regarded as worthy, so that no one could boast in the presence of God.
As I learn your righteous regulations, I will thank you by living as I should!I will praise you in sincerity of heart as I ponder your righteous judgments.
The very essence of your words is truth; all your just regulations will stand forever.Every word you utter is true, and all your righteous judgments are everlasting.
But we have sinned and done wrong. We have rebelled against you and scorned your commands and regulations. We have sinned and done what is wrong, we have acted wickedly and rebelled, we have rejected your commandments and your laws.
And I will put my Spirit in you so that you will follow my decrees and be careful to obey my regulations.I will put my Spirit in you and make you follow my statutes and my ordinances.

But don’t rejoice because evil spirits obey you; rejoice because your names are registered in heaven.Nevertheless, do not rejoice in the knowledge that the spirits are subject to you. Rejoice rather that your names are inscribed in heaven.
