- So he was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights. He neither ate bread nor drank water. And he wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments.
- Cast your burden on the Lord,
and he will sustain you;
he will never permit
the righteous to be moved. - Know therefore today, and lay it to your heart, that the Lord is God in heaven above and on the earth beneath; there is no other.
- Whoever heeds instruction is on the path to life,
but he who rejects reproof leads others astray. - The eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous
and his ears toward their cry. - Though an army encamp against me,
my heart shall not fear;
though war arise against me,
yet I will be confident. - For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit.
- Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock.
- If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.
- And God said, “Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit. You shall have them for food.”
- Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
- The Lord said to Moses, “Come up to me on the mountain and wait there, that I may give you the tablets of stone, with the law and the commandment, which I have written for their instruction.”
- For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.
- How beautiful upon the mountains
are the feet of him who brings good news,
who publishes peace, who brings good news of happiness,
who publishes salvation,
who says to Zion, “Your God reigns.” - For I have no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the Lord God; so turn, and live.
- Who builds his upper chambers in the heavens
and founds his vault upon the earth;
who calls for the waters of the sea
and pours them out upon the surface of the earth—
the Lord is his name. - The vexation of a fool is known at once,
but the prudent ignores an insult. - Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you;
bind them around your neck;
write them on the tablet of your heart.
So you will find favor and good success
in the sight of God and man. - But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.”
- And I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, and all that is in them, saying,
“To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb
be blessing and honor and glory and might forever and ever!” - Can a woman forget her nursing child,
that she should have no compassion on the son of her womb?
Even these may forget,
yet I will not forget you.
Behold, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands;
your walls are continually before me. - Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.
- And I will make them and the places all around my hill a blessing, and I will send down the showers in their season; they shall be showers of blessing.
- To this day I have had the help that comes from God, and so I stand here testifying both to small and great, saying nothing but what the prophets and Moses said would come to pass: that the Christ must suffer and that, by being the first to rise from the dead, he would proclaim light both to our people and to the Gentiles.
- And Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your faith has made you well.” And immediately he recovered his sight and followed him on the way.
