- You have been born anew, not of perishable but of imperishable seed, through the living and enduring word of God.

- One thing I asked of the Lord,

to live in the house of the Lord
all the days of my life,
to behold the beauty of the Lord,
and to inquire in his temple. - Blessings are on the head of the righteous,
but the mouth of the wicked conceals violence. - By the word of the Lord the heavens were made,
and all their host by the breath of his mouth. - For all that is in the world—the desire of the flesh, the desire of the eyes, the pride in riches—comes not from the Father but from the world.
- He has rescued us from the power of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
- What is born of the flesh is flesh, and what is born of the Spirit is spirit.
- Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.
- Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.
- For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
- Therefore let us go on toward perfection, leaving behind the basic teaching about Christ, and not laying again the foundation: repentance from dead works and faith toward God, instruction about baptisms, laying on of hands, resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment.
- Return to me, says the Lord of hosts, and I will return to you, says the Lord of hosts.
- Put on the whole armor of God, so that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

who do not follow the advice of the wicked,
or take the path that sinners tread,
or sit in the seat of scoffers. - The Lord loves those who hate evil;
he guards the lives of his faithful;
he rescues them from the hand of the wicked. - He loves righteousness and justice;
the earth is full of the steadfast love of the Lord. - And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with which you were marked with a seal for the day of redemption.
- The God of peace will shortly crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
