Bible Verses about 'Taken'

  • The Lord God then formed a woman out of the rib that he had taken from the man. He brought her before the man.
    The man said,
    “This one is bone of my bones
    and flesh of my flesh.
    She shall be called woman
    because she was taken from man.”
    This is why a man leaves his father and his mother and joins with a wife, and the two become one flesh.
  • Then, after he had spoken to them, the Lord Jesus was taken up into heaven, and there he took his place at the right hand of God.
  • In you, O Lord, I have taken refuge;
    let me never be put to shame;
    in your righteousness deliver me.
  • Then Job arose, tore his cloak, and shaved his head. He threw himself prostrate on the ground and said:
    “Naked I emerged from my mother’s womb,
    and naked I will return.
    The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away;
    blessed be the name of the Lord.”
  • After he said this, he was lifted up as they looked on, and a cloud took him from their sight.
  • Give to everyone who begs from you, and do not demand the return of what is yours from the one who has taken it.
  • Without any doubt, the mystery of our religion is great:
    He was made visible in the flesh,
    vindicated by the Spirit,
    seen by angels,
    proclaimed to the Gentiles,
    believed in throughout the world,
    taken up in glory.
  • If a man has recently been married, he is not to go off to battle nor have any other duty laid on him. He will be free to stay at home for one year so that he can bring happiness to the wife whom he has married.
  • While he was departing as they gazed upward toward the sky, suddenly two men dressed in white robes stood beside them, and they said, “Men of Galilee, why are you standing there looking up into the sky? This Jesus who has been taken up from you into heaven will come back in the same way as you have seen him going into heaven.”
  • Then he led them out as far as Bethany, and lifting up his hands he blessed them. While he was blessing them, he departed from them and was taken up to heaven.
  • When Jesus had taken the wine, he said, “It is finished.” Then he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.
  • Your statutes are my everlasting heritage;
    they are the very joy of my heart.
  • The Lord God said, “Behold, man has become like one of us, for he has knowledge of that which is good and that which is evil. Now, we must prevent him from reaching out and taking the fruit of the tree of life lest he eat it and live forever.” The Lord God cast him out of the Garden of Eden; henceforth he was to labor tilling the soil from which he had come.
  • Amen, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be accomplished for him.
  • I will strengthen the house of Judah,
    and I will save the house of Joseph.
    I will bring them back
    because I have taken pity on them,
    and they will be
    as though I had never cast them off;
    for I am the Lord, their God,
    and I will answer them.
  • Jesus answered them, “Amen, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only will you do what has been done to this fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ it will be accomplished.”
  • No trial has confronted you except what a person can stand. God is faithful, and he will not allow you to be tried beyond your strength. But together with the trial he will also provide a way out and the strength to bear it.
  • Taking the five loaves and the two fish, he looked up to heaven and blessed and broke them and gave them to the disciples to distribute among the people. They all ate and were satisfied. Then they gathered up what was left over—twelve baskets of fragments.
  • Then he took bread, and after giving thanks he broke it and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body, which will be given for you. Do this in memory of me.”

  • Then he took a cup, and after offering thanks he gave it to them, saying, “Drink from this, all of you. For this is my blood of the covenant, which will be shed on behalf of many for the forgiveness of sins.”
  • With our eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith. For the sake of the joy that lay before him, he endured the cross, ignoring its shame, and is now seated at the right hand of the throne of God.
  • Now we know that if the earthly tent in which we live is destroyed, we have a dwelling prepared for us by God, a dwelling in the heavens, not made with human hands, that will be eternal.
  • For this reason, he is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who have been called may receive the promised eternal inheritance, since his death has served to redeem the sins that were committed under the first covenant.
  • If you refuse to listen to me
    and do not sincerely resolve
    to give glory to my name,
    says the Lord of hosts,
    I will send a curse on you,
    and I will turn your blessings into a curse.
    Indeed, I have already done so
    because you have not heeded my warning.

And now, brethren, I want to remind you of the gospel I proclaimed to you, which you received and in which you stand firm. Through it you are also being saved, provided that you are holding fast to what I proclaimed to you. If not, then you have believed in vain.
