- Nevertheless I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.
- For you, O Lord, are good and forgiving,
abounding in steadfast love to all who call on you. - For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
nor are your ways my ways, says the Lord. - Remember the sabbath day, and keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work. But the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God; you shall not do any work—you, your son or your daughter, your male or female slave, your livestock, or the alien resident in your towns. For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but rested the seventh day; therefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day and consecrated it.
- Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you; and just as I gave you the green plants, I give you everything. Only, you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, its blood.
- He answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.”
- Therefore, brothers and sisters, be all the more eager to confirm your call and election, for if you do this, you will never stumble. For in this way, entry into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be richly provided for you.
- Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, which you have from God, and that you are not your own? For you were bought with a price; therefore glorify God in your body.
- Nevertheless, in your great mercies you did not make an end of them or forsake them, for you are a gracious and merciful God.
- You show me the path of life.
In your presence there is fullness of joy;
in your right hand are pleasures forevermore. - He said to him, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’
- Keep awake therefore, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming.
- But in your hearts sanctify Christ as Lord. Always be ready to make your defense to anyone who demands from you an accounting for the hope that is in you.
- Do not seek your own advantage, but that of the other.
- Lead me in your truth, and teach me,
for you are the God of my salvation;
for you I wait all day long. - Honor your father and your mother, so that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.
- I will never forget your precepts,
for by them you have given me life. - Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord.
Lord, hear my voice!
Let your ears be attentive
to the voice of my supplications! - In you, O Lord, I seek refuge;
do not let me ever be put to shame;
in your righteousness deliver me. - Go, eat your bread with enjoyment, and drink your wine with a merry heart; for God has long ago approved what you do.
- I will instruct you and teach you the way you should go;
I will counsel you with my eye upon you. - Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap; for the measure you give will be the measure you get back.
- Jesus said to him, “Go; your faith has made you well.” Immediately he regained his sight and followed him on the way.
- Be strong, and let your heart take courage,
all you who wait for the Lord. - I have swept away your transgressions like a cloud,
and your sins like mist;
return to me, for I have redeemed you.
