Therefore he is able, once and forever, to save those who come to God through him. He lives forever to intercede with God on their behalf.Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.
But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world.Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.
Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave of sin.”Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who practices sin is a slave to sin.”
“Don’t cling to me,” Jesus said, “for I haven’t yet ascended to the Father. But go find my brothers and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’”Jesus said to her, “Do not cling to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to my brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’”
Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock.Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock.
I will bless my people and their homes around my holy hill. And in the proper season I will send the showers they need. There will be showers of blessing.And I will make them and the places all around my hill a blessing, and I will send down the showers in their season; they shall be showers of blessing.
Then he said to them, “Anyone who welcomes a little child like this on my behalf welcomes me, and anyone who welcomes me also welcomes my Father who sent me. Whoever is the least among you is the greatest.”And said to them, “Whoever receives this child in my name receives me, and whoever receives me receives him who sent me. For he who is least among you all is the one who is great.”
“Haven’t you read the Scriptures?” Jesus replied. “They record that from the beginning ‘God made them male and female.’” And he said, “‘This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.’ Since they are no longer two but one, let no one split apart what God has joined together.”He answered, “Have you not read that he who created them from the beginning made them male and female, and said, ‘Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’? So they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.”
I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you’ve received it, it will be yours.Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
We should help others do what is right and build them up in the Lord.Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, to build him up.
And he took a cup of wine and gave thanks to God for it. He gave it to them and said, “Each of you drink from it, for this is my blood, which confirms the covenant between God and his people. It is poured out as a sacrifice to forgive the sins of many.”And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he gave it to them, saying, “Drink of it, all of you, for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.”
John replied, “If you have two shirts, give one to the poor. If you have food, share it with those who are hungry.”And he answered them, “Whoever has two tunics is to share with him who has none, and whoever has food is to do likewise.”
What is the price of five sparrows—two copper coins? Yet God does not forget a single one of them. And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows.Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? And not one of them is forgotten before God. Why, even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not; you are of more value than many sparrows.
He sat down, called the twelve disciples over to him, and said, “Whoever wants to be first must take last place and be the servant of everyone else.”And he sat down and called the twelve. And he said to them, “If anyone would be first, he must be last of all and servant of all.”
So if you ignore the least commandment and teach others to do the same, you will be called the least in the Kingdom of Heaven. But anyone who obeys God’s laws and teaches them will be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven.Therefore whoever relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
He took some bread and gave thanks to God for it. Then he broke it in pieces and gave it to the disciples, saying, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.”And he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.”
And while they were there, the time came for her baby to be born. She gave birth to her firstborn son. She wrapped him snugly in strips of cloth and laid him in a manger, because there was no lodging available for them.And while they were there, the time came for her to give birth. Fools’ words get them into constant quarrels; they are asking for a beating.A fool's lips walk into a fight, and his mouth invites a beating.
Jesus replied, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry again. Whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.”Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.”
Keep the commandments and keep your life; despising them leads to death.Whoever keeps the commandment keeps his life; he who despises his ways will die.
When God saw what they had done and how they had put a stop to their evil ways, he changed his mind and did not carry out the destruction he had threatened.When God saw what they did, how they turned from their evil way, God relented of the disaster that he had said he would do to them, and he did not do it.
But Jesus told them, “I will be with you only a little longer. Then I will return to the one who sent me.”Jesus then said, “I will be with you a little longer, and then I am going to him who sent me.”
Get wisdom; develop good judgment. Don’t forget my words or turn away from them.Get wisdom; get insight; do not forget, and do not turn away from the words of my mouth.
Don’t let the excitement of youth cause you to forget your Creator. Honor him in your youth before you grow old and say, “Life is not pleasant anymore.”Remember also your Creator in the days of your youth, before the evil days come and the years draw near of which you will say, “I have no pleasure in them”.
If the person still refuses to listen, take your case to the church. Then if he or she won’t accept the church’s decision, treat that person as a pagan or a corrupt tax collector.If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church. And if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector.
