- So then, whenever we have an opportunity, let us work for the good of all, and especially for those of the family of faith.
- God gives the desolate a home to live in;
he leads out the prisoners to prosperity,
but the rebellious live in a parched land. - For the message about the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
- Consequently he is able for all time to save those who approach God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.
- Do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul; rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.
- Shun youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.
- Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have come to believe.”
- Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit in the wilderness, where for forty days he was tempted by the devil. He ate nothing at all during those days, and when they were over, he was famished.
- Blessed is anyone who endures temptation. Such a one has stood the test and will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.
- For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous,
and his ears are open to their prayer.
But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil. - No longer present your members to sin as instruments of wickedness, but present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life, and present your members to God as instruments of righteousness.
- Those who keep the commandment will live;
those who are heedless of their ways will die. - Then Jesus said to the Jews who had believed in him, “If you continue in my word, you are truly my disciples; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.”
- For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have died.
- But, as it is written,
“What no eye has seen, nor ear heard,
nor the human heart conceived,
what God has prepared for those who love him” - If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!
- And without faith it is impossible to please God, for whoever would approach him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
- Those who find their life will lose it, and those who lose their life for my sake will find it.
- It is well with those who deal generously and lend,
who conduct their affairs with justice. - No one after lighting a lamp hides it under a jar, or puts it under a bed, but puts it on a lampstand, so that those who enter may see the light.
- When goods increase, those who eat them increase; and what gain has their owner but to see them with his eyes?
- Keep on doing the things that you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, and the God of peace will be with you.
- The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom;
all those who practice it have a good understanding.
His praise endures forever. - Those of steadfast mind you keep in peace—
in peace because they trust in you. - But the scripture has imprisoned all things under the power of sin, so that what was promised through faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.
