True love (4/4)

  • You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.
  • I have made your name known to them,
and I will make it known,
so that the love with which you loved me
may be in them, and I in them.
  • Since in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor lack of circumcision is worth anything. All that matters is faith expressing itself through love.
  • He answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.”
  • If anyone is rich in worldly possessions
and sees a brother in need
but refuses to open his heart,
how can the love of God abide in him?
  • Who then can separate us from the love of Christ? Will hardship, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or the sword?
  • Let those who love the Lord hate evil,
for he protects the souls of his faithful ones
and rescues them from the hand of the wicked.
  • Such hope will not be doomed to disappointment, because the love of God has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us.
  • The tongue has the power over life and death;
those who cherish it will enjoy its fruits.
  • God’s love was revealed to us in this way:
God sent his only-begotten Son into the world
so that we might have life through him.
  • Keep in mind, therefore, that the Lord, your God, is God. He is a faithful God who keeps his covenant of mercy to the thousandth generation toward those who love him and observe his commandments.
  • If I give away everything to feed the poor
and hand over my body to be burned,
    but do not have love,
    I achieve nothing.
  • If we claim that we have fellowship with him
while we continue to live in darkness,
we are lying and do not live in the truth.
  • If in speaking I use human tongues
    and angelic as well,
    but do not have love,
I am nothing more than a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.
  • But to those of you who are listening to me, I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.
  • For as it is written,
“Eye has not seen, ear has not heard,
nor has the human heart imagined
what God has prepared for those who love him.”
  • Hear, O Israel, the Lord, our God, is Lord alone. You shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might.
  • Brethren, you were called to freedom. However, make sure that you do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh. Instead, serve one another in love.
  • I love the Lord because he has heard my voice
and listened to my cry for mercy,
because he has inclined his ear to me
on the day when I called out to him.
  • Turn away from youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, together with those who call on the Lord with a pure heart.
  • And now, brethren, farewell. Mend your ways. Encourage one another. Be of one mind and live in peace. Then the God of love and peace will be with you.
  • For God would not be so unjust as to ignore your work and the love that you have shown for his name by the services you have rendered to the saints and still continue to render.
  • Blessed is the man who perseveres when he is tempted, for when he has been proven, he will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.
  • In contrast, the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against such things.
  • Let no one regard you with contempt because of your youth, but serve as an example to the believers in your speech and conduct, in your love, your faith, and your purity.

but whoever heeds admonition is prudent.
