the anointing you received from him

This same anointing

and is true and not false,

- This is how everyone will know
that you are my disciples:
if you love one another. - Love one another with genuine affection. Esteem others more highly than yourself.
- May the Lord cause your love to increase and overflow for one another and for everyone else, just as our love does for you.
- You are all-beautiful, my love,
without the slightest blemish. - With all humility, gentleness, and patience, bearing with one another in a spirit of love.
