- If the member refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if the offender refuses to listen even to the church, let such a one be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector.
- Now I would remind you, brothers and sisters, of the good news that I proclaimed to you, which you in turn received, in which also you stand, through which also you are being saved, if you hold firmly to the message that I proclaimed to you—unless you have come to believe in vain.
- So teach us to count our days
that we may gain a wise heart. - Very truly, I tell you, the one who believes in me will also do the works that I do and, in fact, will do greater works than these, because I am going to the Father.
- And a second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’
- For thus says the Lord to the house of Israel:
Seek me and live. - Jesus answered them, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only will you do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ it will be done.”
- Then I acknowledged my sin to you,
and I did not hide my iniquity;
I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,”
and you forgave the guilt of my sin. Selah - His divine power has given us everything needed for life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.
- Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.
- Do not work for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures for eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For it is on him that God the Father has set his seal.
- He called the crowd with his disciples, and said to them, “If any want to become my followers, let them deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.”
- Nevertheless I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.
- The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous,
and his ears are open to their cry. - The end of all things is near; therefore be serious and discipline yourselves for the sake of your prayers.
- The unfolding of your words gives light;
it imparts understanding to the simple. - Every word of God proves true;
he is a shield to those who take refuge in him. - O give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
for his steadfast love endures forever. - So that by God's will I may come to you with joy and be refreshed in your company.
- Sing praises to the Lord, for he has done gloriously;
let this be known in all the earth. - O give thanks to the Lord, call on his name,
make known his deeds among the peoples. - The Lord is near to all who call on him,
to all who call on him in truth. - And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the good news to the whole creation.”
- Jesus said to him, “If you are able!—All things can be done for the one who believes.”
- And whenever you fast, do not look dismal, like the hypocrites, for they disfigure their faces so as to show others that they are fasting. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward.
