Way (4/4)

  • Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”
  • Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
  • I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish.
  • Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.
  • My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.
  • The husband should fulfill his marital duty to his wife, and likewise the wife to her husband. The wife does not have authority over her own body but yields it to her husband. In the same way, the husband does not have authority over his own body but yields it to his wife.
  • Produce fruit in keeping with repentance.
  • Do not take advantage of the widow or the fatherless. If you do and they cry out to me, I will certainly hear their cry. My anger will be aroused, and I will kill you with the sword; your wives will become widows and your children fatherless.
  • So that I may come to you with joy, by God’s will, and in your company be refreshed.
  • Walk in obedience to all that the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live and prosper and prolong your days in the land that you will possess.
  • So after they had fasted and prayed, they placed their hands on them and sent them off.
  • Wisdom’s instruction is to fear the Lord,
    and humility comes before honor.
  • Then you will understand what is right and just
    and fair—every good path.
  • They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen. Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error. Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done.
  • “If you keep your feet from breaking the Sabbath
and from doing as you please on my holy day,
if you call the Sabbath a delight
and the Lord’s holy day honorable,
and if you honor it by not going your own way
and not doing as you please or speaking idle words,
then you will find your joy in the Lord,
and I will cause you to ride in triumph on the heights of the land
and to feast on the inheritance of your father Jacob.”
For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.
  • But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
  • Just as the living Father sent me and I live because of the Father, so the one who feeds on me will live because of me.
  • Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.
  • You make known to me the path of life;
you will fill me with joy in your presence,
with eternal pleasures at your right hand.
  • He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created.
  • Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.
  • Therefore, my brothers and sisters, make every effort to confirm your calling and election. For if you do these things, you will never stumble, and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
  • For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
  • Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give.
  • And, once made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him.
